Israel trades strikes with Hezbollah as Lebanon reels after deadliest day since 2006

Hezbollah has acknowledged the death of one of its senior commanders, Ibrahim Qubaisi.
He was “martyred on the road to Jerusalem,” according to a statement released by the terrorist group on Tuesday. The statement made no mention of the individuals who were fighting for the rights of those living in Gaza.It said that he was born in 1962 in Zebdine, in the southern region of Lebanon, and went by the name “Abu Musa.”Earlier, the Israeli military had reported Qubaisi was killed in an airstrike together with two other commanders in south Beirut. Qubaisi oversaw many Hezbollah missile units, the Israel Defense Forces have reported.

UK urges its citizens to leave Lebanon as it moves 700 troops to Cyprus 

While it transfers about 700 troops to Cyprus to increase its military presence in the Middle East, the British government is advising its nationals to leave Lebanon right away.The UK government released a statement on Tuesday stating that the troops are anticipated to arrive “in the coming hours.”

Due to the presence of two ships in the Mediterranean throughout the summer, the Royal Air Force and Navy already have a presence in Cyprus. “We still implore all parties to withdraw from the fight in order to stop more terrible deaths. In the event that things get worse, our government is making sure all the necessary arrangements are made to support British nationals. Healey continued, “I would like to express my gratitude to the British soldiers who are serving in this area for their dedication and professionalism.

“We continue to urge all sides to step back from conflict to prevent further tragic loss of life. Our government is ensuring all preparations are in place to support British nationals should the situation deteriorate. I want to thank the British personnel who are deploying in the region for their commitment and professionalism,” Healey added.
